The past month...

This will mostly be pictures and not much dialogue. I've been a slacker in posting, but lots has happened. Gabriel is sitting up now as you can see...
He also got his bottom 2 teeth...you can't see much here, but those are 2 pearly whites! Now he has 2 more on the top and 2 more working their way through. He is a teething machine. But, I must say, he is a pleasant teething machine for the most part. Once again, we're blessed!
Gabriel is all over the place and getting into everything. He's also a big ham!
Such love...
Daddy always feeds Gabriel the good stuff...and Gabriel knows it! Here he is sampling orange carrot juice, yummy!
I love this one...
Here is our champion standing up. He is starting to pull up, but hasn't quite figured out how to pull up on the couch. This was strategic placement...what a poser!
I had a midterm exam on my birthday, so when I got home after being braindead, here is what I found greeting me at the front door. William put such a nice dinner together and full of the festivities. What a great night...besides the midterm!

This is Gabriel's new favorite spot. He loves to tinker with the electronics. So far so good...he is having lots of fun
So, that is our month in review. I'll try to be better at giving more frequent updates.

Abuelita

Gabriel Lucas has been spoiled for the past 3 weeks with Abuelita here. This is her first visit to see our champion and they've been having so much fun together! Here is Abuelita feeding Gabriel Lucas, and as you can see they are both lovin' it! Doesn't look like good eats, but he doesn't know any better! :) It looks like green beans with something else...maybe squash.
After eating, of course, the best dessert is his fist...
Abuelita has been buying Gabriel things almost every time we go out! Below, Gabriel Lucas is stylin' in his new hat and jacket! Much needed for the past week with the cold temperatures we have been experiencing. Gabriel Lucas has been warm and cozy!

Baby Einstein DVDs have been a new discovery for Gabriel Lucas. He watched the entire DVD making noises and kicking his legs while sitting on Abuelita's lap. He especially loves to see the other babies on the DVD.

Although he is still not crawling, he is working hard. Mostly, he likes to sit up from laying on his stomach. And, he is starting to try to speak...nothing yet, but I'm working on "mama" first! :)

Nearly crawling...

Gabriel Lucas is on all fours and rockin' n rollin'! He takes a step or two and then face plants! Oh my...he'll get it soon! I recently bought wall plug covers, and I guess it is time to put away all the stuff we have collected from our travels.

New Year's Weekend

This first year with Gabriel Lucas is so fun because everything is experienced for the first time! Everything from runs to the grocery store to first teeth to first holidays. Our first Christmas and New Year with Gabriel Lucas has been so exciting! Here is our champion using one of his gifts from Mops and Granddaddy. This doggy towel is monagrammed with his name on it and is so cute!

Gabriel's Aunt Airely and Uncle Adam came down to visit or a few days this weekend. Here is a picture from Friday night at Shooters on the intercoastal. We had dinner watching the boats go by on the water. It was also Gabriel Lucas's first time using a big boy high chair. He was part of the festivities!

We all finished dinner and then I started asking about dessert. What better to do in South Florida for dessert than go to Jaxon's Ice Cream Parlor??? So, we headed on down to Hollywood for a treat!
Saturday was a full day of tourist activity! We started by hitting another South Florida "must," Laspada's Hogies! Roastbeef, everything but hot peppers...oh soooo good! Sometimes I wonder if that is the real reason Adam comes down to visit us.

After Laspada's, we got on the water taxi at Shooters and headed out for a tour of the South Florida waterways. The water taxi captains are filled with knowledge of the houses on the intercoastal and drama of who is living in them. It makes for interesting listening, but you never know what to believe!

The baby was with us...I promise! Not sure where he was in these pictures, but probably taking a nap....
Today, Gabriel Lucas and I went out and got some new wheels! It is time he sees the world from his stroller. He is decked out in black (it is the only color they had) and equipped with relector tape in case we decide to walk at night. I could use some ideas to add some color to these new wheels. Any ideas?
Happy and healthy New Year to everyone!

First Christmas

We officially had our first Chrsitmas with Gabriel Lucas! So much fun, and I know it will only get better. This year he was mostly interested in the paper and the ribbons. Of course we couldn't let him play with the paper too long since it went straight to his mouth! Here are a couple pictures...

I know it has beena while, but we have had lots of sickies around here. It started with the Norwalk virus (or something like it) a few weeks ago and we are still fighting off the remnants of a cough and wheezing. This weekend Gabriel did some shopping coupled with some naps and dancing with Daddy. Here is a brief summary in pictures...

Today, I could hardly believe it when I walked in to the Family Center to pick up Gabriel and he was sitting up by himself playing with toys...no support! Our boy is getting so big I can hardly stand it! Here is his picture in his Christmas outfit from today after we got him from work. What a little champion!

Just call me Suzie...

That's Suzie homemaker! I just finished making some new foods for Gabriel Lucas's. He will be starting with green beans or carrots. I also got squash to make, but didn't get to it tonight...maybe tomorrow night! Doesn't it look yummy? It tastes better than it looks...I tried it.

Love that smile
